about me.
Hi I’m Lisa, and I’ve been an artist as long as I can remember. As a kid, I cut and colored my dolls’, stuffed animals’, and even my dog’s hair. In high school, my sister and I took turns bleaching and coloring each other’s and our friends’ hair with Manic Panic, we were so ahead of the curve!
I’ve literally tried every color of the rainbow, and have shaved my head and grown it out more times than I can count. I learned a lot of lessons through experimenting (lots of what NOT to do!) and through advanced art classes.
I thought I might want to become an elementary school art teacher. I just knew I needed to do something creative where I wouldn’t be required to tone down who I am. My Mom was the one who suggested I could actually go to school and make a living doing hair, something I had previously thought of as a just a fun hobby. I loved the idea of being able to combine 2 things I’m passionate about: art and science.
If we haven’t met yet, I look forward to meeting you! Click on the button below to learn more and set up your first appointment
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since 2002, and am now an independent hairstylist at Rebel Revival Hair Co and a hair color educator with Wella. I am extremely passionate about education, and keeping up with what’s new, and am a graduate of Wella’s Master Color Expert program. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, art, and yoga, and spending time with my English Bulldog, Dino.
I love working with many types of clients, but some of my favorite things are short women’s haircuts, and finding a way to add a fun pop of color that’s flattering and work appropriate, regardless of age or background. I believe there’s no age limit for rocking fun hair and pride myself in helping you find the best, happiest version of you. I specialize in color changes, color corrections, vivid rainbows, and customizing just for you. I’ve been told I “can create anything with color” and I’ll be honest with you in coming up with a plan to get you to your hair goals.
about the salon
rebel:
-A rebel is a person who stands up for what they think is right, or just their opinions, regardless of what anyone thinks. It's all about being an individual and refusing to follow a crowd that forces you to think the same way they do. True rebels know who they are and do not compromise their individuality or personal opinion for anyone. They're straightforward and honest and tell it like it is.
revival:
-a return of strength or importance
-renewed attention to or interest in something
-an awakening
Rebel Revival Hair Co was created by Jon Kershner and Samantha Snyder in 2012 after deciding that if they wanted to work at the salon of their dreams, they were going to have to create it! It started as a small booth rental salon suite offering cutting and coloring services inside Phenix Salon Suites in Rosedale, MD. I joined them in 2013. We quickly outgrew the space and relocated to Joppa Road in Parkville, MD in 2015. In 2019 we added barbering and braiding services by Kristyn Gischel. As of August 2020 we are now at Rebel Revival version 3.0 at 9849 Harford Rd!
